Anglers Creel Survey 2024-2025

Wild Rivers TU Chapter and the Wisconsin DNR have been conducting an anglers creel survey on the White River. WRTU Chapter funded the entire project, which allowed the WI-DNR to purchase the creel survey boxes and trail cameras.

The creel survey boxes have been placed at various access points along the White River watershed in Bayfield County. Anglers have the option to fill out a survey form which is supplied in the box and then put it back in the lower section of the box.

We also decided to place angler creel survey boxes on some of our area “put-and-take” trout lakes that are stocked each Spring. These trout lakes are in both Bayfield and Douglas Counties.

The creel survey results help the Wisconsin DNR fishery biologists and WRTU Chapter how many fishermen are using the White River resource and area trout lakes. The results will be compared to past conducted angler creel surveys.
